Day Care

I can count for you the number of minutes I've been alone in the house since Adam was born. It's three digits, but low three, and almost half of it was spent asleep that one time I was sick. So right now, this is weird.

Adam started day care on Monday. He did okay for his first day--shy but game when we went in, somewhat bewildered when I left. He cried when I got back, but the teacher said that he had been okay for the first 45 minutes, only getting upset for the last hour or so.

Here's Adam getting ready to go to school--sorry, Marsha, day care--on Monday. He has no idea what's in store.

Today, he was okay going in and playing with me, but he melted DOWN when I left. I heard him crying to the end of the block. I'm dealing, but I can't wait to go back and get him. I hope he's okay.

We've been reading a lot of Llama Llama Misses Mama, by Anna Dewdney, which is about missing your mom on the first day of school. Adam likes it, but I don't know if it's sunk in.

So for the rest of the morning, I'm just going to sit here and look at this picture of him, so proud of sitting on the curb the other day outside the library. So proud. I'm just going to sit here and look for the next hour or so.
