Eureka

I don't have any pictures that match the theme of the post, so I'll just put in random pictures from the past few days.

So first: I think I've figured out "Swiffer and the Broom."

(Adam likes green beans and running his fingers through his hair during meals.
Especially messy ones).

For those of you who've never seen this game, it's where he grabs the broom and the swiffer, hands them to you, and then insists that you run around behind him with them. You could call it a chasing game, except he won't always run. Sometimes he strolls, sometimes he turns around and runs at you, sometimes you play hide and seek around the kitchen island. So: what does he think is going on? If it's not chase, what is it?

The answer I've come up with is that he's a general, and they're his troops. He's leading them into battle. So sometimes he charges ahead of them, making it look like chasing. But sometimes he turns around and herds them back in retreat, which looks like reverse chasing. And sometimes he just wanders around and they have to follow him.

So, mystery (sort of) solved.

(Adam also likes playing with straps, which he'll talk about quite clearly.
He can snap them shut, but (thank goodness) he can't unsnap them.
So every time he successfully closes them, he immediately asks for "help" to undo them.)

In other news, Adam's been making a lot of two word combinations lately. When he sits, I swear he's saying, "I sit." And he said what sounded like "red ball" just this morning. He definitely asked about Daddy this morning before Daddy got up; I'm not sure what it was, but it was something Dada. And just now, he was standing next to Mike, who was on the couch, and said, "Dada up!"

So there you have it. He also knows some letters: A, B, M, N, O, X, Y. He's almost ready for algebra!
