It has been pointed out to me that information might be nice, even if I don't have any adorable photos. So, to be brief:

Monday was Adam's best day care day so far. He only cried for a few minutes at drop off, played and hung around with the other kids, ate and napped well, and was happy instead of frantic to see me at the end of the day. He rocks.

Tuesday was Adam's 18 month doctor's appointment, where we learned that the mozzarella snacks that we give him cover his calcium needs for a lot of the milk he won't drink, and that he's UNGODLY tall. He's 35 inches tall, which is about the 98th percentile. It's hard to tell because the graph only goes to 95. He's off the chart. He's the size of your average kid 9 months older than he is. Which sounds even better if you say that he's the size of your average kid 50% older than he is. His weight is actually right on average, which sounds weird compared to his height, but is apparently just fine to the doctors.

The doctor asked a bunch of developmental questions: does he know any body parts? Does he say at least 8 words? Mike pointed out that he says more than 8 body parts! He knows foot, hand, belly button, penis, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head, hair, pointing and saying them. I think he knows toes and knees, too, though he doesn't say those.

And then today, he finally climbed into his wading pool and splashed around. He also went through the sprinkler, but that didn't go over well at all. But the pool--well, thank heaven for it in this weather. Also today, I asked him (rhetorically, I thought), "Adam, where's my purse?" And he stood up and walked over to the baby gate and pointed to where my purse was in the kitchen. So I opened the gate and said, "Can you get me my purse?" And he trotted over and, after flirting with being distracted by the Swiffer, brought me my purse. I knew there was a reason I had a kid!

So, that's our update. Photos when I have them, though probably not till Friday at least. Stay cool!
