Nothing To See Here

We had such a fun and lovely day, and didn't take a single picture.  I really owe you all an apology.

So I'll tack today onto the end of a better-documented week.

On Monday, Adam goes to school.  He likes to play in the pretend kitchen, because the stove has a lot of knobs.  Luckily, our real stove has knobs on the back; he can't get at them.  Because he would.  Oh, he would.

Adam loves school.

On Tuesday, I have bowling league.  Adam comes along and is admired by dozens of doting grandmother types, and the occasional preteen who's also tagging along.  He mostly hangs out in the arcade room, "playing" the free samples of the games.

On Wednesday, it's school again!  They spend a lot of fun time on the playground.

On Thursday, we went to the pond!  It wasn't our local one; we went down to Houghton's Pond on the Blue Hills Reservation.  It was hot and gorgeous.  First we sat in the shade and had peanut butter sandwiches for lunch.

Then we went into the water.  Adam was miserable and trying to get away at first.  Then he figured out about splashing, and all bets were off.  He shouted "SWIM!" with glee for the rest of our time there.

Finally, on Friday, Nana came over.  Adam and Nana played in the yard, and they splashed in his bath.

And then there was today, when we went to the pond and had a picnic with Brenda and Jason and Adam went on the slides and swing and then swimming and then played in the sand.  All of which begin with "S," but none of which, of course, were interesting enough to photograph.  Nothing to see here.  Move along.

I think that's the word for his new pose.

He's added it to his nodding/head shaking repertoire, along with blinking.

He expects you to imitate him when he does this.

And it's really hard not to.

Happy Father's Day!

Adam was happier than he looked here.  He now knows Grandpa, Gramps, Grandma, Steph, Marsha, and Dylan by name, from their picture and in person. We've video-chatted with Grandma and Gramps a couple of times in the past few days, and we can barely get him to say their names when they're on screen, but as soon as we hang up, "More Gramps!  More Grandma!"  (Though he pronounces it Damma and Dampf)

Brenda and Jason (and Lucas; those are his hands in the foreground) were over on Thursday, and Adam showed them his new little books, which he loves to play with.

Lots of focus.  He likes to show off his stuff--books, pinwheels, bubbles, fans, lights, flags.  He'll run you all over the house showing off his stuff.

Attention Shoppers

At Target with Grandma, we had all the fun!  We tried on hats....

....we were attacked by adorable fuzzy dogs....

....really, we had just an all-around good time.

And Adam can say Grandma now!

Vroom Vroom!

Finally, finally, we put together the Cozy Coupe that Adam got for Christmas.

And by "we," I mean Mike and Ellen. And in fairness, I should point out that by "Mike" I mean my husband, not Mike Sr.

I don't think still shots can adequately capture how much he liked this. Yeah, he's smiling, but he's thrilled. He loved it.

He was sort of working on how to move it with his feet, but he loved the key, and the horn, and especially the door.
Observe: Adam getting in and out.

And here's the whole thing in motion. Steph and Chris, this was a fabulous gift, and thank you so much!

Memorial Day

Sorry this took so long. We went for a lovely walk on Memorial Day, down to the playing fields at the Andrews School, with our new kite and our new Jumbo Bubble Wand.

Let's take a peek!
