Up On The Roof

So the most exciting thing Adam had ever seen up to that point was Marsha on the roof putting up the Christmas lights on Thanksgiving afternoon.  He tends to wake up already in the middle of a sentence, and for the past week it's been about Marsha on the roof.  So when he went to visit the farm on Saturday, he was very cautiously allowed....

...on the roof!

So  now he's talking nonstop about that, and I have a new favorite Marsha and Adam photo.

Family Photos

We didn't get a lot of good photos from Thanksgiving (at least not on my camera), but we have some nice pictures of ourselves, which (in all vanity) is nice to have.

Clearing the Backlog: Cider Day

Cider Day and Adam's birthday celebration seem like ages ago, and I feel very far behind, but really it was less than a week!  Still, let's see about catching up with some of these pictures, shall we?

Adam's all about the farm, and one of the Must Do's when we're there is sitting on the tractor.  Here's Cider Day's Tractor Sit, with Daddy.

Now here's the fabulous guitar cake that Marsha made.  Note the licorice strings, the musical note cupcakes...

...and the little drum with Adam's age on it!

If you ask him how old he is, he now knows how to answer.  But since I've been saying for weeks, "He'll be two," his answer to "How old are you?" is "I'll be two."

Adam tries to play his cake.

I don't have too many great photos, but it was a lovely day.  The cake was amazing, the cider was amazing, everyone had fun, and Krista brought Quinn and Tegan, so we were full of little kids and had a lovely day.

Cheap Thrills

The following photo is the movie poster for Adam's life at the age of 2.

And you will not convince me he wasn't drunk in this picture.  I know, I was there, it was 11am, and he's a teetotaler.  Still, when you see a guy playing the maracas and standing in a laundry basket, how do you say anything except drunk?

We went to the bookstore the other day.  Adam found the pocket dictionary of Spanish to be an engrossing read.  I think it had to do with the guitar on the cover.

Feet in the Sink

Adam still calls this playing Feet in the Sink, unless we remind him to call it Hands in the Sink.

Really it's more like cups in the sink--almost everything you see on the counter is for him to play with.  Little kid cups, empty soap bottles, empty yogurt cups, his plastic fancy cup, measuring cups--anything not breakable, and--if I'm watching closely enough--occasionally one that is.

He'll do this for hours if you let him.  But he won't take a bath.  Go figure.

Post-Aquarium

When we got home from the Aquarium yesterday, we had other fun things to do.  Because all the trees  had shed their leaves on our street in the last 24 hours.

And Adam wanted to run run run!

We were digging leaves out of our shirts for the rest of the day.

Aquarium!

Adam, Marsha, and I went to the New England Aquarium today.  In the car on the way over, we were talking about the penguins and the fish, and Adam was really excited.  Once we got there, though, it was all about the penguins.

ALL about the penguins.  I loved the whole thing, but he kept talking about penguins, hustling us through the rest of the aquarium to get back to the penguins.  I think it was partly because it's not very well lit, and some of the darker areas made him a little nervous.  Still, we saw a lot of cool stuff.

This one blew me away.  It's a sea horse that looks like leaves. Can you even see it here? How cool is that?

School of fish.

Adam was very excited about the water in the petting pool, but not so much about the starfish.

At the top of the giant tank.

Penguin!  Penguin penguin penguin!

We had a ton of fun.  And Adam's admission is free for another year, so if we get a membership, we can get the lowest level and it'll totally be worth it.  Rock and roll!

More Halloween

Further evidence of our Halloween fun.

Guess which one is Adam's!

Halloween Preview!

These are the first of our Halloween photos, the ones from Brenda's camera.

The Man with the Yellow Hat hat is our own creation.

The airplane propeller toy is The Best Gift Ever, courtesy Brenda and Jason.  Adam took it to school with him today.

He wouldn't put the hood to his costume on, but he was a funny monkey to begin with, so the costume was just icing.

More on his new love of candy, his brave talking to strangers, and our lovely neighbors in a future post!
