3-CPO

Lately, Adam's been all about demonstrating his 3-CPO walk to anyone who'll watch. He also just starts to do it randomly sometimes. Because--robots! Right?

Sorry, wrong blog!  That was meant for my book blog.  Apologies!

Backward to Saturday

Yes, Sunday's BBQ fest was great, but it was preceded by Saturday's fun, which was a trip to play golf.  This was Adam's idea, and Jason and Brenda joined us.

I like to imagine this one in sepia, with everyone looking so seriously at the camera.  An official golf portrait.

We didn't finish the course (18 holes, lots of people), but we got past 9, and Adam seemed to have fun. . Of course, we were fast and loose with rules like "don't pick your ball up and move it closer to the hole," which was only fair to the people behind us.  Still, it was a nice day, and we finished it with ice cream, so that's good, too.

BBQ Cookoff!

We went to a barbecue cook-off in Lexington on Sunday morning.  Unfortunately, Adam is not a big fan of barbecue. But would you like to share his bread?

You'll also notice the telltale evidence of ALL THE WATERMELON, which he ate.  All of it.

Then we took a photo.  Adam has become a ham.

He's a bad influence.

Also, he's a cutie pie.

Tom and Jo came with us and we all ate so much meat.

And Adam showed off his climbing skills.  A lot.

Good times, kids, good times.  It was a gorgeous weekend overall; stay tuned!

Morning Has Broken

Finally, after several weeks of getting to day care at 9am (and work at 10am), Adam's started getting up at a decent hour.  The trick is opening his curtains in the middle of the night when he's asleep.  He wakes up at his own pace, and he's so much happier to be up.  I also let him play for a bit before he goes to the bathroom, which also improves his mood.  I can't tell you what a difference it's made to have him getting up earlier.

Now that he's getting up at 7:15 instead of 8:15, we have time to have all kinds of fun before school.

Like golf.

Holding His Own

Adam: If you try to put me on those potties I will never go!
Mama: Was that a threat?
Adam: I would never threaten you! [beat] What does 'threaten' mean?
